La estación UCRI de la Escuela de
Ingeniería Topográfica se une a la
Red Nacional de Estaciones GNSS
vinculadas a SIRGAS
RESUMEN
En Costa Rica la red de estaciones de operación continua GNSS vinculada al Sistema de Referencia Geocéntrico para
las Américas (SIRGAS) ha llegado a un total de doce. La más reciente en ser incorporada a la red SIRGAS-CON es la
estación perteneciente a la Escuela de Ingeniería Topográfica (EIT) de la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR), denominada
como UCRI. Se presentan las principales características técnicas de la estación, así como el procedimiento que concluyó
con la inclusión de esta nueva estación dentro de SIRGAS. Luego de cinco semanas de ser procesada con los más altos
estándares internacionales, la estación UCRI no solo representa una nueva y excelente alternativa para la georreferen-
ciación de la información espacial para todo tipo de proyectos, sino que además sus datos contribuyen de una manera
directa con el mantenimiento semanal del Marco Internacional Terrestre de Referencia.
ABSTRACT
In Costa Rica, the network of continuously operating GNSS stations linked to the Geocentric Reference System for the
Americas (SIRGAS) has reached a total to twelve. The latest to be incorporated into the SIRGAS-CON network is the
station located in the School of Surveying Engineering (EIT) of the University of Costa Rica (UCR), known as UCRI. The
main technical characteristics of the station, and the procedure which led to the inclusion of this new station within
SIRGAS are presented. After five weeks of being processed with the highest international standards, UCRI station not
only represents a new and excellent alternative for georeferencing of spatial information for all types of projects, but
also their data contribute in a direct way with the weekly maintenance of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame.
